In June 1998, a group of Porsche owner-enthusiasts met after office at Autonet Sdn Bhd at Lot 5, Jalan 19/1A, Seksyen 19, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, and agreed to set up a club for Porsche owners throughout Malaysia.
A Pro-tem Committee was duly elected and they set to work to form the club. After all the hard work, the club was duly registered on 23rd December 1998 under the Societies Act 1966.
Since then, the Club has grown from strength to strength. The Club holds frequent track-days, originally at the Shah Alam Motor Racing Circuit at Batu Tiga, Shah Alam, Selangor, and later at the Sepang International Circuit. I remember our Club members convoyed to Sepang and were amongst the first to visit the SIC even whilst it was under construction. In addition, there were frequent get-togethers, Sunday morning drives, petrol-head gatherings, annual Drive-Of-The-Year events to neighbouring countries, and of course our Annual Dinner & Dance!
The Club was honoured to appoint YAB Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as our Patron. Tun has always been a keen motorist and likes to drive his Porsche Cayenne.
